The Foodie
This page presents one, limited aspect of my character. There is much more to learn about Sam Roth!

Since my childhood growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, I have thought, talked, and read about preparing and eating food. To me, it is sustenance on more than just a biochemical level, but the singular physiological, experiential, and societal keystone of life.
I am currently seeking employment in the food industry, most likely as a line cook, though I am considering positions as prep chef, sous chef, garde manger, and baker. For more information, please view my food resumé.
I myself cook often, exploring flavors and techniques I make up or find in my favorite food books. I sometimes share recipes on Nibbledish (formerly Open Source Food), a social network for food lovers. I also review restaurants and other venues on
Yelp.
I also have gotten interested in food photography, a hobby inspired by a book I read and spun into an independent study on the food and literature of Hungary.
